Empowering Voters
Locally, the Empowering Voters Committee is working on a series of educational efforts for social media, newspaper, radio, and TV on a range of topics such as League of Women Voters purpose and history, voter registration, how elections work, being an election judge, redistricting, gerrymandering and the legislative process. Throughout Minnesota, local Leagues are reaching out to voters to stand up for our democracy by and organizing efforts as part of the Unite and Rise 8.5 campaign. Visit https://www.lwv.org/
Events
The League of Women Voters of New Ulm hosted a three-part public event series this winter titled “Meet Your Local Elected Officials.” The first session featured New Ulm’s Mayor and City Council members, the second session was with the New Ulm School Board, and the last session with the Brown County Commissioners.
